Max Verstappen Concludes 2023 Formula 1 Season with Yet Another Victory

On Sunday, Max Verstappen concluded the 2023 F1 season with a victory at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, securing his 19th win of the season. Red Bull Racing claimed victory in every race except the Singapore Grand Prix. Moreover, Verstappen has now moved into the third spot in the all-time F1 wins list with a total of 54 career victories.

With both the drivers' and constructors' championships settled well before, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix turned into a contest for second place in the constructors' championship, primarily between Ferrari and Mercedes.

Initially, Sergio Perez finished second, followed by Charles Leclerc and George Russell, a result that would have secured a second-place finish in the constructors' championship for Ferrari. However, Perez received a 5-second penalty for an incident with Lando Norris, causing Leclerc and Russell to move up to second and third. This penalty gave Mercedes a 3-point advantage for the second position.

Now that the season has concluded, all teams have a three-month window to regroup and develop a new car with the hope of challenging Red Bull in the upcoming 2024 F1 season, scheduled to commence on March 3rd, 2024, in Bahrain.
