Red Bull KTM Takes Early Lead at Japanese MotoGP™ with Binder's Sprint Podium Result

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's meticulous approach at Motegi led to impressive results, with Brad Binder and Jack Miller securing 2nd and 4th positions, respectively, in the race. Despite a 5th-place qualifying finish, Binder claimed an undisputed runner-up spot during the Sprint, while Miller spent most of the 12-lap race in 3rd place and ultimately finished 4th.

Both riders used upgraded versions of their RC16 prototype bikes with chassis modifications inspired by test rider Dani Pedrosa's performance at the recent San Marino Grand Prix. Binder set a new lap record during Friday's Practice 2 session, securing the top spot for the following sessions. In Saturday's Q2, he was just half a second away from pole position. Miller, on the other hand, displayed impressive speed from the outset, securing 3rd place in Q2.

During the 12-lap Sprint race, Binder and Miller quickly moved into 2nd and 3rd positions. Binder passed his teammate and closely followed Jorge Martin, eventually claiming 2nd place. Miller, valiantly defending his podium position, finished a strong 4th. The Red Bull KTM team is optimistic about their chances for the 24-lap Grand Prix on Sunday.

Brad Binder, who qualified 5th but finished 2nd in the Sprint, expressed satisfaction with his performance and bike setup, looking forward to the race on Sunday.

Jack Miller, who qualified 3rd and finished 4th in the Sprint, mentioned that he faced some issues with his bike's right-side tire but was overall pleased with the bike's performance and aimed to improve for the upcoming race.

Francesco Guidotti, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager, praised the team's performance and expressed optimism for the race on Sunday.
