Ferrari has unveiled extensive expansion intentions in line with Enzo Ferrari's brand objectives.
In homage to its departed founder Enzo Ferrari, who passed away 35 years ago, the company is embarking on a Maranello factory expansion. Despite displaying potential in recent races, Ferrari's performance in the 2023 season has fallen short of predictions, marking a deviation from their neck-and-neck rivalry with Red Bull in 2022.
Enzo's unparalleled impact on both Formula 1 and the upscale sports car sector endures, and this enlargement stands as proof of his groundbreaking foresight. Scuderia Ferrari took to Twitter to honor their founder's heritage, posting:
"Enzo Ferrari left us on 14 August 1988, but his legacy certainly hasn’t.
"People, technologies, buildings. Our Maranello factory's expansion stands testament to his vision, enabling us to push boundaries and shape the future of automotive innovation."
Beyond his pivotal role as the driving force behind Ferrari, Enzo also showcased his skills as a competitive racing driver. While he's predominantly renowned for establishing the prestigious sports car brand and its Formula 1 team, his legacy extends far and wide.
His passing on August 14, 1988, at the age of 90, signified the conclusion of an era, yet his influence endures within the fabric of the brand. Through this expansion of their facilities, Ferrari aims not only to elevate their Formula 1 performance but also to forge ahead into the realm of future automotive technology.
They are preparing to make significant strides in both the hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) domains. The team elaborated on this in the pages of the Ferrari Magazine:
"And now, the most awaited event is the launch of the e-building in about a year, where we'll make our unique electric engines – exclusively available in Ferraris.
"The new space will include vital buildings for production, like a Paint Shop, allowing us to provide greater personalization, a key trend in the luxury market."
