With an array of achievements under their belts, they recently surpassed their personal bests in the latest race at Bristol.
On Sunday, both Larson and Elliott secured spots in the top ten, prolonging their respective streaks of top-ten finishes at the iconic 'Last Great Colosseum'. Larson, in his four appearances on the track's concrete surface, has consistently placed within the top five, maintaining an impressive record. Denny Hamlin trails closely behind with four consecutive top-ten finishes. Meanwhile, Elliott clinched 8th place, achieving his third consecutive top-ten finish.
Tire management emerged as a critical factor that challenged the entire field throughout the 500-lap race. Despite facing a penalty that prevented him from securing a victory, Larson showcased adeptness in preserving his tires. "I felt like I was effectively managing my tires. Unfortunately, we didn't have many long runs, and when we finally did, we encountered the penalty. I'm content with our fifth-place finish," Larson conveyed to hendrickmotorsports.com.
For Elliott, Bristol marked his strongest performance thus far in 2024. Reflecting on the race, he remarked, "It felt like racing on a heavily worn-out short track. It was enjoyable. Perhaps there was a slightly better balance to be found, but overall, it was a satisfying experience." Their performances have elevated Larson to 1st and Elliott to 6th in the driver standings.

Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott each have accumulated 18 victories for their team. Larson has commanded 4,567 laps while wearing Hendrick Motorsports colors, whereas Elliott has led 5,113 laps. When combined, these figures represent nearly 12% of the total laps that the organization has led throughout its 40-year tenure in the Cup Series.
Remarkably, it was Elliott who completed the team's 80,000th lap, achieved during the Bristol race on Sunday. Prior to reaching this milestone, he expressed to NASCAR, "It's a significant number of laps and race wins encapsulated into all those laps that they've led as a company. I'm definitely proud to have played a very, very small part in that, but I've enjoyed my time, and hopefully, we can continue to contribute."
Larson and Elliott are slated to drive together at the Circuit of the Americas road course in their next race.
