Steiner Acknowledges Haas' 'Keenness' for Formula 1 Collaboration with Competitors

Guenther Steiner has expressed that Alfa Romeo must make a decision regarding their future in Formula 1 amidst ongoing rumors of a potential partnership between Haas and the Italian team.

Speculation has arisen that Alfa Romeo might collaborate with Haas once their association with Sauber concludes in 2026. Audi's impending takeover of Sauber has created uncertainty about Alfa Romeo's continued presence in F1.

One proposal for a partnership involves Alfa Romeo "rebranding" the Ferrari engines currently used by Haas as Alfa Romeo units.

Steiner has indicated that Haas is "interested" in forming a partnership with Alfa Romeo. He mentioned his familiarity with individuals at the team but refrained from providing further details.

When asked about the possibility of a collaboration between Alfa Romeo and Haas, he stated to Total Motorsport: "I actually don't have an update. I mean, because I don't know what Alfa Romeo wants to do; they need to decide if they want to stay in Formula 1 or not. That has nothing to do with me, I don't comment for Alfa Romeo. I know the people [at Alfa Romeo] very well, and I know a lot of other people very well. If they want to stay in Formula 1, for sure, we are interested; it would be an interesting partnership. But there is no deal in progress at the moment."
