Liam Lawson anticipates concluding the 2023 Super Formula season.

Lawson had been juggling his commitments between the Japanese series and his role as the reserve Formula 1 driver for Red Bull Racing. However, when Daniel Ricciardo suffered an injury, Lawson found himself quickly stepping into the AlphaTauri seat. The transition happened so rapidly that he might have unintentionally neglected to inform Team Mugen about his departure.

Reflecting on this, Lawson admitted during an interview in Singapore, "Now that you mention it, I never actually informed them. Everything unfolded incredibly fast. I've since had discussions with them, but it wasn't something I formally communicated. Nevertheless, they've been exceptionally supportive throughout the season, and working with them has been a fantastic experience. I believe it has contributed significantly to my preparedness for a situation like this."

Ricciardo is expected to miss at least the Singapore Grand Prix and potentially the race in Japan the following weekend. AlphaTauri anticipates Ricciardo's return by the time of the Qatar race. Consequently, Lawson is realistic about the duration of his stint with AlphaTauri and suggests that he will likely complete the 2023 season with Team Mugen in Super Formula.

"I believe that's the current plan," Lawson stated. "As of now, there is ample time before our final round for Daniel to make his comeback. So, for the time being, it's a race-by-race situation here, but I should have sufficient time to rejoin Team Mugen."
