Chandler Smith to Pilot Truck #25 for Rackley WAR at Talladega in Upcoming Weekend

 


Chandler Smith, a regular driver in the Xfinity Series, is gearing up for his inaugural race of the 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season, partnering with Rackley WAR at Talladega Superspeedway this upcoming weekend.

Rackley WAR revealed on Monday, September 25th, that Chandler Smith will take the wheel of the #25 Chevrolet Silverado, stepping in for the usual driver, Matt Benedetto, in Saturday's Truck race at Talladega.

Chandler Smith, a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Kaulig Racing, expresses his gratitude to Rackley WAR for granting him the opportunity to return to the Truck Series and is eager to make the most of it.

In a statement issued by the team, Smith stated:

"I'm incredibly thankful to Rackley WAR for entrusting me with their truck this weekend at Talladega. It's a fantastic privilege to represent Rackley Roofing, WAR Shocks, and the entire organization. I take great pride in this opportunity and am looking forward to it."

Chandler Smith previously competed full-time for Kyle Busch Motorsports in two Truck seasons, driving the #18 Toyota Tundra. He made his Truck debut at the age of 16 and boasts an impressive record with five victories, including one pole position, along with 23 top-five and 34 top-10 finishes in 61 starts in the NASCAR Truck Series.

The 21-year-old native of Talking Rock, Georgia, who is currently contending for the Xfinity championship, will have a busy weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, as he will also be behind the wheel of the #13 entry for Kaulig Racing in Sunday's Cup race.

Chandler Smith currently holds fifth place in the championship standings with 2086 points, one win, and seven top-five finishes, establishing himself as one of the frontrunners in the quest for the 2023 Xfinity title.

In a statement released by Rackley WAR's co-owner, Willie Allen, he expressed enthusiasm about having Chandler Smith in the truck for the Talladega race weekend:

"We are genuinely excited to have Chandler [Smith] driving the truck this weekend at Talladega. I've known Chandler and his family for virtually his entire life. They're exceptional, and Chandler is an outstanding driver. We're eagerly anticipating the weekend."

Smith will be aiming to add more NASCAR Truck Series wins to his impressive record at Talladega on Saturday, September 30th.
